Louis Vuitton x Maroquinaris Zoologicae
British artist Billie Achilleos was commissioned by Louis Vuitton’s Maroquinaris Zoologicae to celebrate their 100th anniversary in the small leather goods game. Wallets, purses, belts, and accessories were transformed into a miniature zoo including small mammals, birds, reptiles, crustaceans, and even insects.
Each animal was created to highlight a different aspect of the design process. The armadillo was created to display the soft yet durable quality of the leather while the chameleon displays the variety of color. The grasshopper is made from products that create noises such as zips and pops that mimic that that of the musical insect.
